4 Organizations in Bhutan that need immediate NAME change.

4 Organizations in Bhutan that need immediate NAME change.

I have recently read a book where it was shared that Mother Teresa never address “problem” as a “problem” rather she called it a “Gift.” She even mentioned that the word we use daily influences our daily happening. It was clearer to me when I read a book “The Secret” and “The power” by Rhonda Bryne. These books proved how our daily use of words influences our daily life and how we can choose our words for better tomorrow.  It is observed that repeating same words time and again has a power over the situation. Maybe that’s the reasons why we pray. Prayer is nothing but repetition of positive word.
On top of that, these could be the reason why advertisement board are larger and displayed everywhere. This may have influenced us unconsciously… who knows.
Anyways here are popular organization in Bhutan, which I feel needs immediate change, and here is why;

1.                       1. ACC (Anti-corruption of committee)

I have an immense respect for Anti - Corruption Commission of Bhutan. I genuinely feel that it is one of the most important organization in our country. But I have commonly observed that most of the people fear ACC more than they respect them.
The organization “Anti-corruption commission” carries negative word “corruption”. Anti- corruption signifies existence of corruption in the country, on top of that it also reminds us of corruption.  Tada…. Negatively worded!!!
We see there is a word “corruption” that is negative. Just imagine… we hear atleast one news daily on corruption and anti-corruption, one person talks about corruption and another does too.  Meaning...  If there are 29 thousands people who heard about corruption...  it would be like chanting word “corruption”  29 thousand times in a day.  The energy is more when people read it with fear or anger. And the worse is when they visualized the situation in their mind.
Now here is a thing, most of the responsibilities carried out by anti-corruption commission is related to integrity. They check and balance the integrity in organizations and institutes. I mean… what's so wrong in keeping to name of the organization as “Bhutan Integrity Commission.”
So better rite.

2. Bhutan Suicide Prevention Commission

I have recently read on one of the newspaper on how suicide has been a concern to our nation. It seems like we have been advertising “Suicide” in the name of organization and advocacy.  Instead on advocacy why not introduce to greater opportunities and better facilities. well … we can start by training parents how to be good parents, or maybe we need a “Parents and Child Act” hahaha oppsss to much. Anyway how about training community members on counseling and emotional intelligence. Mhhhhh….
In a bottom line what I am saying is the name is negatively word and we need to change it. Since it’s all about how much we care for youths in the corner, here are some suggestions. The title should have been, “One step more”, “We care”, “You matter” etc. Readers, share your suggestions…

          3. Bhutan Cancer Society

Don’t tell me what’s there in Name. Name doesn’t matter if it is not uttered at all, however if it is repeated many times then there is something we have to be concern about. I heard about cancer when I was 10. I just know then that cancer cannot be cured. That was so scary that I couldn’t let the word cancer out of my mind. Cancer is often advertised in media through movies… like actors dying of cancer and all that hair falling out, pale face, and finally the blood from the mouth followed by death.
I have heard of stories that cancer can be cured medically. On the other hand I have also heard stories how cancer can be cured by not focusing on cancer and concentrating on wellbeing. Well that would be a long story to narrate…
But yeah… main point, how about a name change that will make you forget cancer even for a while. Bhutan cancer society can be “well-being society” Make a suggestion readers….

4. Disaster Management

OMG…!!! The most frequent management that we hear most often is Disaster management. It is well known that our geographical location is situated between two giant plates. To be precise, “we are located in earthquake zone.” There are other hazards that may lead to disaster anytime…. Like we have 31 potentially dangerous glacier above us, and alpine forests in sub-tropical region.  They are so vulnerable hazards which can be disaster anytime.
On top of that we have Disaster Management. If disaster management is all our advocating on safety measures, why not keep it as, “Safety management” why chant a mantra of “Disaster.”
